Heya everyone!
Things have been pretty crazy of late. You know what, I feel like all I do on this blog is give excuses of why I haven't been posting on the other blog.
Okay it was like two times, but still, two times more than it should have been.
This time I have a pretty damn good reason!
I am going to China tomorrow ! Well, technically today because it's now 1am... (Tuesday 8th July) I'll be there until the 28th August.................it's gonna be hella hot ;_;
I'm so excited...and so insanely nervous, I've never traveled outside of Europe by myself before and I don't know how to airport.
I've been stabbed many times these past few weeks, getting injections against all sorts of stuff that if I contract would kill me...so that's pleasant.
I had to get injected against five different diseases (or whatever) and had 3 doses of each.......so I was stabbed a total of 15 times. I had dead arms for nearly a week and then had to get stabbed with another dose....it was really intense :(
Because to get into China, like most places, you need a Visa. The university, who was organising the trip, was also meant to sort out the visa application and send it off.
I've had problems with my visa because the lady at the university that was meant to apply for it, and had all of my documents since I left the university town on the 13th May....did absolutely nothing. She had my passport, letter of invitation, my completed application and some very awful photos that had to be taken, she had everything needed for sending my visa application off to the embassy to be processed....of which she did none!
So I get a call two weeks ago from the other lady who interviewed me (way back in March) saying that they cant send my visa off to be processed because the company they use needs 2 weeks to process...and by that time it would be too late!
Obviously at this point I'm freaking out because if I dont have the visa...I can't enter China!
So I had to go through the process myself, I had to drive up to the university town, collect my documents, come back home, wait until Monday which was the nearest appointment I could get, drive to Manchester, give in the application, come back home, wait a few days, drive back to Manchester and receive my passport with the visa page inside.
Easy, right?
WRONG!!
I got a call on Tuesday (after I had given in the application) from the same lady as before saying that Charlie, the other candidate, has had his application rejected...and because of this they might reject mine.
Soooo...in case this happened we would need to reapply to I had to bring with me copies of the previous documents.
Roll on visa collection day.
VISA SUCCESSFULLY RECEIVED!!! YAAY
Charlie received his a few days later.
Once I had the visa I could finally prepare properly for the trip.
I realise I haven't told you guys what I'm actually going to be doing in China.
WELL, I have a job as an English Teacher. I'm going to be doing conversation classes with groups of children from ages 6 to 14.
Some of you might know already, I'm studying TESOL at university and I really want to be an English teacher so this is perfect for me. I'm so lucky I was accepted ^^
Anyway, if you dont hear from me for a while it's because I've probably melted.
I'll be documenting ever single moment of my life because CHINA!
TL;DR
I'm going to China, I got stabbed and it hurt, the visa application sucked but I have it now, I'm so excited!
