It's not 'obsession' it's infatuation mixed with devotion

こんにちは!~

Recently I've been really getting into Japanese doramas. Well, to be more accurate - I'm becoming more and more obsessed with infatuated by Haruma Miura.

It's quite a funny story about how I first came to know about his existence. Actually, it's not that funny...
A while ago I became curious about JGV and it wasn't until January (I think) that I decided to watch some videos - an action that I don't regret at all. One of my favourite actors is called Haruma, he's the cutest most sweetest guy ever, after watching all of the videos of him I could find I went to tumblr and looked at the tag - y'know, reblog some .gifs and all that.

While I was enjoying the  Haruma Tag I noticed that there wasn't just the wonderful JGV actor there was another beautiful man. I became enchanted by his warm bright smile and gorgeous hair and decided to google his fine ass.
I found that he's in a drama called Last Cinderella that was currently on tv in Japan (this is April time btw) So I promised myself that once I complete my exams I would watch this drama.

FAST FORWARD TO 12TH JULY.

I watched the first episode and became one hundred percent devoted to it, and more importantly, Haruma Miura.

Now because of my love for Haruma I decided I would watch EVERYTHING he's ever done...which seems to be quite hard because a lot of the old stuff is damn hard to find. Damn you internet.
But I've seen and fallen in love with the drama Samurai High School. SWEET HONEY GLOWING JAM THAT DRAMA WAS GOOD.
I'm going to watch a film Kimi ni Todoke which....it's quite funny...again, not really...

FLASHBACK TO  JULY 2012
...One of my really good friends (who has now abandoned me to go back to China which I'll probably complain about in a separate blog post) sent me a link to this film and told me to watch it - it was one of those multiple part ones - I watched the first part but because it was quite late and I had to go to school early the next day I didn't watch the rest....it seems I never had the chance to finish it.

FLASH FORWARD TO LAST WEEK
Now I realise that the film my friend sent me was KIMI NI TODOKE(!!!) and  I'm kicking myself because had I watched the film LAST YEAR I would have had more time to love Haruma.

It's like, say that you really like lemons...I mean you REALLY like lemons and you want to show your love to the lemons by eating them everyday. You want to appreciate the sexy sourness of the lemon by licking the fresh, juicy tangy centre for the rest of your life.
Then you came across a time machine hanging around in a street somewhere, you travel back in time to 30th July 2012.
Now you have 1 extra year to devote yourself to this delicious fruit of kings.
Do you guys see where I'm going with this?

Anyway, I love Haruma Miura. He has now become ones of my favourite Japanese actors, tying of course with Ryoma Baba. Speaking of whom, Baba-chan needs to do more dramas and films I'm feeling lonely without his perfect cheekbones to stare at.

I'm starting to go public with my love of these two men. I watched Samurai High School with my little brother and continuously told him that Haruma was the most beautiful being to ever walk this earth whenever he showed up on screen. I also shove my phone in his face and force him to tell me who the man is with a face carved by angels who is currently my background (Baba-chan btw)

Please excuse me while print out a butt load of pictures of these beautiful men and plaster them all over the walls of my bedroom while sobbing quietly about how perfect they are.

[P.S - I dare not imagine what would happen to my heart if these two guys were to appear in a drama/film together...oh sweet monkey balls *hyperventilates*]

  1. I wandered over to your personal blog out of boredom, and I just read this post. I haven't watched much JGV, and I'm not familiar with either one of your Harumas. So I google-image-searched Haruma Miura, and wow! I scrolled through row after row of his pics and quickly declared him flawless. Then I read more of this post, and saw that Baba-chan is your other favorite J-actor. I already knew (from your movie reviews) that you have impeccable taste, but this totally seals the deal. BABA-CHAN IS MY FAVORITE, TOO! And I giggled out loud when I read that he's your phone wallpaper, because HE'S MINE, TOO! (It's a screenshot from "An Assassin", and I told my sister that I don't need a security lock code on my phone because if I ever lose my phone, no one will dare mess with it once they see assassin!Baba-chan is on duty. He's a badass!) So anyway, at the risk of sounding creepy, I just want to say that I lament the fact that we live on different continents because I think we could have awesome fangirling slumber parties and be great friends.

    1. I hope you realise that you are quickly becoming my favourite person in the world right now!
      Ahhh Haruma <3
Sorry but I'm a freaking out right now because....FINALLY SOMEONE WHO SHARES MY LOVE FOR RYOMA BABA!!!! AND HE'S YOUR PHONE WALLPAPER TOO!!!! AHHH!!! Ohhh that is such a good idea though! Assassin-Baba is like the ultimate way to ensure that no one would touch your phone!~ Mine is a picture of him pulling a deliciously dorky face, maybe it's not such a wise decision to have him looking so fabulous...it's like he's luring people in with his seductive gaze *drools* (luring me in anyway, I can't wait to pick up my phone and unlock it whenever I put it down!)
I know exactly what you mean, I always meet the loveliest people online and we have so much in common. The only issue is location! ahaha ^-^ But we can always be online friends :)

  2. I tried to reply to this last night using my phone, but I don't think it worked! So I will try to remember what I said and type it again. :P
You are already one of my favorite people - I stalk your blog like 50 times a day to see if you've updated. And it is so super exciting to meet someone else who loves Baba-chan because none of my friends know who he is except for the ones I've shown him to, and they don't Get It. :( And none of my friends watch BL movies either. I'm so glad I found you! <3

    1. Aw thank you so much :D
Ohhhh I've been there! I gave up showing my friends who I like years ago because whenever I did I always got strange looks (among other things!~ :\) it's the same with BL movies *sigh* Ah well, we're always going to meet people who judge us for what we like ^-^
Baba-chan is just perfect though <3 and I'm so glad you found me too!~ :D
So tell me, what is your favourite BL movie? :D (or your top 5 if that's easier haha :D)

  3. I know exactly what you mean!! I've told two friends about my love for BL movies - one definitely thinks I'm weird, and the other friend was uncomfortably SILENT in the face of my confession. (And she's Asian, so I felt extremely judged.)
My top 5 favorite movies... Good question!
#1 is definitely "Go Go G-Boys" <3 (Cheng-Kang Tang is my #2 favorite after Baba-chan. Have you ever watched the Taiwanese tv show "Queen's" [or "Queen's Glass Shoe"] I've recently started watching it, and although it's not BL, it's pretty cute, and CKT is the star and SO PRETTY. So. Recommend!)
And of course I love "Takumi-Kun - Pure" because that was my introduction to Baba-chan :D
After that, it's pretty difficult. I really liked "Bokura no Ai no Kanade" and "Love of Siam" until the endings. :( So uncalled for! Those movies could have ended happily, dammit. Writers/directors think they're so clever with their artsy SAD endings, but the joke is on them because I watch these movies online for free, and I refuse to buy the DVD afterwards if the ending is unnecessarily sad. Whereas I will probably need to buy a second copy of "Go Go G-Boys" soon because I've almost worn that DVD out. So take notice, directors! :P
I liked "The King and the Clown" and "A Frozen Flower" a lot, but again, I hated the sad endings. Although those endings are at least a bit understandable compared to the previous two I mentioned.
Hmmmm... I bought the "Formula 17" DVD (to reward the cheerful ending haha), but I'm not sure I'd call it a "favorite"? But I'm having a hard time coming up with five! (I guess I really only named two, eh.)
What are YOUR Top 5 favorites?
I don't know if you have any interest in non-Asian gay movies, but if you you're not opposed, I recommend "Plan B" (Argentina) and "Yossi & Jagger" and "Yossi" (Israel). Definitely some of my favorite movies, and I bought the DVDs. [Warning: "Yossi & Jagger" has a terribly sad ending, but Yehuda Levi is so beautiful that everyone should watch it anyway.]

  4. Oh you picked some good ones!! I love Go Go G-Boys and Formula 17 too, of course Takumi-kun 4 because of the lovely Baba-chan ^-^ I've never seen Queen's - maybe I should add that to the list of things I need to watch (I've got so many dramas and tv shows to go through not to mention all of the films on the other blog ahaha! :D) I love how you've nearly worn out Go Go G-Boys dvd!~
Well...my top 5... I would say Ai no Kotodama, Heavenly Touch and Formula 17...I liked Rec to some extent but that ending ripped my heart out so.. :L I want to say Junjou - Pure Heart as well but...I dont know, I feel like (now that I look back on it) there were so many things that could have been improved and I guess I was so clouded by my love for Rakuto Tochihara that I overlooked them :L Yeah it is quite hard coming up with 5! There are so many I liked but wouldn't put them on a favourites list. Hm.
I will watch those movies! But uhh...sad ending?! How sad are we talking? WHO DIES?! T.T

  5. Queen's is really cute! I'm still watching it. Unexpected surprise - it looked BL-promising when the uber-hot basketball player suddenly developed a CRUSH on Cheng-Kang Tang's character. I then went running off to some message board for spoilers and my hopes were quickly dashed. :( But still. I do recommend it! :) CKT dresses as Saber the (female) manga character in the first episode - that's all it took for me to be swooningly hooked. I think all the episodes are on Veoh except for one which is on YT. This thread has all the videos linked:

I haven't watched Rec yet! The heart-ripping threat has scared me off. But maybe I will watch it tonight!
